This post is taken from IZULAT blog repost here

WhatsApp will switch off or be in inactive state users that will not comply or agree to its new terms or privacy terms until May 15,2021 and will be eventually removed. Their account on WhatsApp will not work then like sending and receiving messages until they agree to the new terms.

“WhatsApp has recently detailed what exactly will happen to users who disagree to its privacy changes. Earlier last week, the Facebook-owned messaging app stated it will allow users time to review WhatsApp’s planned privacy updates all “at their own pace”. WhatsApp has said that users will see a banner displayed at the top of the app, which is expected to explain the new privacy terms and changes. WhatsApp claims that it will “slowly ask” users to agree to the new terms “in order to have full functionality of WhatsApp”. However, for those who choose not to comply with the terms by May 15, “these users will be able to receive calls and notifications, but will not be able to read or send messages from the app.” The “short time” span supposedly gives users a few weeks to decide but the account may be deleted since one of WhatsApp’s policies for inactive users gives the company the right to delete the account after 120 days of inactivity.”(Showcel News)

“The new privacy policy outlines that messages between individual accounts on WhatsApp will still be end-to-end encrypted but, messages sent to businesses may be stored on Facebook servers and utilized for advertising data. Additionally, the new terms would allow Facebook and WhatsApp to share transaction and payment data in order to broaden e-commerce offerings and better target ads.”(Showcel News)

The main point : WhatsApp will switch off messaging for users who do not comply or agree to their new privacy terms and will be put into inactive list until May 15,2021 and will be removed because of inactivity.

Fossil Fuel Air Pollution Kills People Yearly

Saturday, February 13, 2021 | 0 comments

This post is taken from IZULAT blog repost here.

According to new study, the contribution of fossil fuel on air pollution is big as it causes big percentage of death yearly.

“The new study shows that in 2018, estimated 8.7 million deaths were linked to fossil fuel emissions alone.”(CNN)

“More than 8 million people around the world die each year as a result of breathing polluted air that contains particles from fossil fuels, a new study has found. Burning fossil fuels such as coal and oil produces greenhouse gases that trap solar radiation in the atmosphere and cause climate change. But it also releases tiny poisonous particles known as PM2.5. Small enough to penetrate deep into the lungs, these particles can aggravate respiratory conditions like asthma and can lead to lung cancer, coronary heart disease, strokes and early death.”(CNN)

“A report released Tuesday shows the emissions from use of fossil fuels was responsible for one in five premature deaths around the world in 2018 — significantly more than was previously thought. The study shows that burning fossil fuels have dire implications for the health of human beings, in addition to being a major contributing factor in climate change….. In 2018, 8.7 million people died prematurely as result of air pollution from fossil fuels, according to the new research from Harvard University in collaboration with the University of Birmingham, the University of Leicester and University College London.”(CNBC)

Researchers found that regions with the highest concentrations of fossil-fuel related pollution have the highest rates of mortality. These regions include eastern North America, Europe and South-East Asia, which includes China and India.”(CBS News)

“Burning fossil fuels produce greenhouse gasses, which trap radiation from the sun, which is partially responsible for the climate crisis. But it also produces a "toxic cocktail" of tiny particles capable of entering our lungs, causing asthma, lung cancer, coronary heart disease and early death, among other health issues. Researchers analyzed this particulate matter, known as PM2.5, from a wide range of sectors, including power plants, planes, cars and other sources. They used a global 3D model that can distinguish between various pollution sources, allowing them to hone in on exactly what people are breathing in which regions. They found that as many as 30.7% of deaths in Eastern Asia, 16.8% in Europe and 13.1% in the U.S. can be attributed to fossil fuel pollution.”(CBS News)

Hogging Vaccines Of COVID-19

Saturday, January 30, 2021 | 0 comments

This post is taken from IZULAT blog repost here.

Lately, South Arica has been worrying about the hogging or hoarding activities of wealthier countries which it said that these countries do about the COVID-19 vaccines which left the Africans no more available vaccines for them.

African expert regarding the pandemic said that some countries thought if they vaccinate their population, they are now safe from the coronavirus without regards to other countries battling against the virus and said that no one is safe unless everyone in the world is safe.

“"Fundamentally, there's a mistaken belief by some countries that they can vaccinate their populations and they'll be safe."It simply is not true. In this world that we live in, with this coronavirus, no-one is safe until everyone is safe," said Prof Salim Abdool Karim, chair of the government's coronavirus advisory panel[of South Africa]….. "There's no endgame that sees one country succeeding in controlling the virus while the rest of the world is dealing with rampant spread. For me, we all need to stand together. It's in everyone's interests….."To me it would be unconscionable that a country like the US or UK to start vaccinating low risk young people, when we here in Africa haven't even started vaccinating healthcare workers and the elderly. "At the rate at which things are going, that is what's going to happen," he warned.” (BBC)

The main point : South African expert told wealthier countries not to hoard or hog COVID-19 vaccines and let other countries like Africa could buy some and said no one is safe unless everyone in the world is safe.

North Korea – Recently, North Korea unveils its large submarine-launched ballistic missile in a military parade.

North Korea has celebrated the end of a rare political meeting by unveiling what appears to be a missile designed to be fired from a submarine. Images released by the country's state-run Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) showed thousands of people and soldiers at a nighttime military parade in Pyongyang, the capital, including leader Kim Jong Un. The headliner, however, was the new submarine-launched ballistic missile (SLBM) -- which KCNA declared was the "world's most powerful weapon." Solid-fueled missiles can be fired on shorter notice than liquid-fueled counterparts.”(CNN)

"No matter who is in power in the US, the true nature and the true spirit of the anti-North Korea policy will never change," Kim said Saturday. Coon Cheese Into Cheer Cheese

Thursday, January 14, 2021 | 0 comments

This post is taken from IZULAT blog repost here.

Coon Cheese will no longer be seen on market shelves after facing backlash from anti-racist people saying the name “coon” is a racial slur for black people. The company who own the cheese product- Saputo Dairy Australia- will change the name of the cheese product from Coon Cheese into Cheer Cheese but with unchanged recipe.

Coon Cheese is to be rebranded in Australia to Cheer after a campaign by activists against the word's racist connotations. The well-known brand, which has been around for more than 80 years, will disappear from shelves in July. The cheese is owned by Canada's Saputo Dairy Australia which announced last year it would "retire" the name.”(BBC)

“Coon, which has operated for 85 years, takes its name from pioneering American cheese processor Edward William Coon. However, the word is also a racial slur used against people of colour. There have long been calls to ditch the name, but the controversy reached a tipping point in 2020 as the Black Lives Matter movement swept around the world.”(7News)

“Saputo Dairy Australia, which owns the brand, confirmed it was changing the name in July last year following calls led by academic Stephen Hagan for a rebranding."I said that the cheese brand was offensive, I said that it demeans people of colour," Dr Hagan told the ABC at the time…….. Today, Saputo Dairy Australia announced the name was being changed to Cheer Cheese, with the rebranded packaging to hit supermarket shelves across the country by July. "Treating people with respect and without discrimination is one of our basic principles, and it is imperative that we continue to uphold this in everything we do," Saputo chief executive Lino A Saputo said. "Our decision to change the name of Australia's much-loved cheese reinforces this commitment to build a culture of acceptance, inclusion and respect where everyone feels a sense of belonging." The company's commercial director, Cam Bruce, said the packaging would be similar to the current branding and the recipe would remain unchanged.”(ABC)

The rebranding or the renaming and the new name was brought by consumer research wherein the new name emerge because their consumers have that feeling while enjoying the cheese product.

“"Cheer Cheese will continue to be made locally in Victoria from Australian milk, supporting local dairy farmers," he said. He said the name was decided on after consumer research. "Through our research, consumers endorsed this name," Mr Bruce said. "They told us the name connects them to how they feel when enjoying the cheese in their everyday life. "We trust that our valued consumers, as well as those that are new to our products, will embrace the new name and what we stand for."”(ABC)

The main point : The known cheese brand Coon Cheese will change its name into Cheer Cheese after an ant-racist campaign against the word “coon” which is a word of racist slur for black people.
